Coe Farm

BEST VIEWED WITH MOBILE SIDEWAYS

A professional couple recently purchased a post-war, farm workers, house and required substantial extension to create a new, modern, contemporary home for three generations of the family.

Our appointment is to cover planning, building regulations and project manage the construction of the building. This scheme is a combination of householder planning, notification and permitted development.

It was very important for the clients that we investigated and utilised sustainable technology within the design, including, passive solar gain, thermal mass, passive ventilation techniques, solar voltaic and solar thermal and biomass heating systems.

Regularly working from home and with extended family, it was important that the design allowed segregation and privacy where required. However, the main focus of the internal layout would be a large open space combining lounge, kitchen and dining.

“The client’s tastes have helped to create an unusual, contemporary addition to what may be seen as an ordinary dwelling and due to it’s unique style, this has become a favoured scheme by the local authority.”
