Sunny Trees
This project comprised the extension and renovation of the adjoining bungalow as well as a new carport design with natural larch cladding and tiled roof.
An existing traditional conservatory was to be replaced with a modern vernacular extension to the front of the house, to create a combined living room/garden room.
The design comprises a full glazed gable wall to maximise the southern aspect, with a large roof overhang and protruding side walls for solar shading. An exposed oak king truss provides a feature element as well as supporting structure to the overhang. Vaulted ceilings and roof lights ensure plenty of natural light penetrates deep into the dwelling. We worked on the scheme from preliminary concept design through planning to building regulations drawings. The garage has subsequently been built, the house extension to come in the near future.
